I’ve been at Jiva for a month now and it’s time to pull myself away from the code. For the last 4 weeks Jon’s been mentoring me, which outwardly looks like an excuse to pop down to Baristas (never a bad thing), but it’s really to help me along with...
What we do...
Here at Jiva, we build creative web applications with a focus on People Search.
Sometimes you just want to find someone who really knows what they're doing to help you out and we're working on better ways to do that using the biggest networker of them all: the Internet. Our company is defined by the eclectic nature of the team; we draw inspiration from unlikely sources in the pursuit original answers to mundane problems. We also have a strong social ethos so you'll find our products have a distinct grassroots feel about them.
Current projects
Beanbag
Beanbag, is a simple and easy way for parents and students to connect to the vast community of educators and resources that sit outside the school gate. Based on the simple philosophy that education is too important to be confined to schools, Beanbag simplifies the process of finding the thousands of really good teachers, tutors and education professionals that work outside of the school system.
For tutors, Beanbag is a place to get the most from your hard earned skills, find interesting work and share ideas with fellow practitioners.
Advisr
Advisr simplifies the way small and medium sized companies search for professional advice. Search is based on what you know not where you work, so companies with a problem can connect directly with an accountant, lawyer or HR professional with the skills to solve it. Designed from the ground up to be accessible from the new generation of smart phones, Advisr is a search tool for 'people with knowledge'.
